Having served as both Head and Deputy Head of Criminal Investigation Agencies within Military Region 3 and the General Department of Politics, Senior Colonel Tran Dang Hung possesses extensive experience in leading, supervising, and directly handling complex criminal cases. His practical experience has equipped him with exceptional skills in evidence assessment, investigative strategy, and comprehensive legal risk management.

Strategic Legal Advisory Expertise

During nearly ten years as Senior Colonel and Head of the Legal Affairs Division of the General Department of Politics, he played a leading role in advising on, developing, and managing legal affairs within the military system. He has an in-depth understanding of Vietnam's legal framework, particularly in the field of criminal investigation.

Comprehensive Professional Training

His professional credentials reflect a unique combination of military command training and legal education. He received formal military command training at Army Officer College No. 1 and completed specialised criminal investigation training as well as a Bachelor of Laws at institutions under the People's Police Academy system of the Ministry of Public Security. This multidisciplinary background enables him to combine military discipline and strategic thinking with sophisticated legal expertise.

Professional Experience

• October 2003 – May 2005: Head of the Criminal Investigation Agency, Military Command of Thai Binh Province.

• June 2005 – March 2010: Deputy Head of Regional Criminal Investigation Agency No. 1, Headquarters of Military Region 3.

• April 2010 – November 2013: Intermediate Criminal Investigator, Criminal Investigation Agency of Military Region 3.

• December 2013 – July 2016: Head of the Regional Criminal Investigation Agency, General Department of Politics.

• August 2016 – March 2026: Senior Colonel, Head of the Legal Affairs Division, General Department of Politics.

From April 2026, he entered the statutory pre-retirement period in accordance with applicable regulations.
